Structure and Mechanism of Functioning

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Jaspuria B.Ed. College plays a central role in quality planning, improvement, and sustenance within the institution. The IQAC was established in 2019 and reconstituted in line with NAAC guidelines to enhance efficiency and ensure a structured quality framework.

The Principal of Jaspuria B.Ed. College acts as the Chairperson of the IQAC. The IQAC Coordinator reports directly to the Chairperson and is responsible for the smooth day-to-day functioning by coordinating with faculty members, administrative staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders.

Role and Position in the Administrative Structure

The IQAC holds a unique position within the administrative setup of the college. As the watchdog of academic and administrative quality, it ensures that all initiatives are effectively planned, implemented, and evaluated.

While it functions as an integral part of the institution’s governance, it also maintains an independent evaluative role to monitor progress and provide constructive recommendations.

The IQAC is guided by statutory bodies such as the Governing Body, Academic Council, and Staff Council, and has the authority to recommend quality enhancement measures to these bodies.

Structure of IQAC

The IQAC is chaired by the Principal and consists of representatives from:

• Heads of various Cells and Committees
• Senior faculty members
• Alumni representatives
• Student representatives
• Non-teaching and administrative staff
• Local community representatives
• External experts in teacher education

In alignment with NAAC recommendations, the IQAC meets four times a year to deliberate on academic, administrative, and co-curricular quality enhancement initiatives.

Working Process

• Feedback is collected regularly from students, alumni, faculty, parents, and employers.
• Inputs from various college committees such as Curriculum Committee, Examination Committee, Grievance Redressal Cell, Research Committee, etc., are integrated into the IQAC action plan.
• Targets are set quarterly with assigned responsibilities.
• Progress is reviewed in subsequent IQAC meetings, and corrective actions are implemented promptly.

Approach to Quality Assurance

The IQAC at Jaspuria B.Ed. College follows both Bottom-Up and Top-Down approaches to ensure comprehensive quality assurance:

• Bottom-Up Approach: Feedback is collected from all stakeholders to inform planning and quality enhancement.
• Top-Down Approach: Directions from statutory bodies and principal-level leadership are implemented institution-wide.

The college follows a decentralized structure to ensure efficiency, transparency, and accountability in implementing initiatives.
